Jill and I took the day today to hang out downtown. It's been a while since we headed there and we wanted to make the most of our weekend. We started off with Outback Steakhouse for lunch then took the ferry and headed to the park. It was a beautifly sunny day. Here is a panorama of HK island.
This is a bohinia flower, it was constructed when the British gave Hong Kong back to China.
In the garden we heard some drumming and went to check it out. Apparently, every Sunday from 2:30 to 4:30, there is a Kung Fu demonstration. We only stayed for about 30 minutes but someday I'd like to watch it all. The part we were there for was interesting.

Hiking
This past weekend was great. The weather has been getting better lately and we've been seeing more and more sunshine which is great. We had a high of 27 degrees and didn't waste it. On Saturday, we headed to a place called Shek O for some hiking and paragliding. On Sunday we went hiking in Ma On Shan where we live. The weather was beautiful and we decided to hike over the mountains to another town for lunch. There are really nice restuarants there so it was our motivation to finish. While hiking we stumbled upon these ruins of a village. In total there were a dozen or so structures in varying levels of decay. Based on the size of the trees that have grown in the middle of them I'd say they were abandoned at least 70 years ago....but what do I know! This is an old house if you can't tell.

Some of the ruins looked a little bit newer than others.
Jill had a good time checking out the floweres.
I was following this giant ant around for a while.
The rest of the hike was quite nice as well.
It eventually came out at the spot where I paraglide.
This is Sai Kung where we had lunch.
