School Picnic

This past Saturday we had our school picnic. We needed 7 coach buses to fit all the families. I had flash backs of last years picnic where we went to a dirty little farm that was riddled with trash and where all of the animals looked sick. It was very depressing. This year however, we changed the venue and it was pleasantly surprising. The organization was great and the day was...dare I say it....nice.

I didn't take too many pictures. At the first place we all stayed at the main entrance and let the parents and kids explore. It was more like a park so we don't think we missed much.

weekend work

We've been busy working the last two Saturdays. Brian has to work again next Saturday too. That means we're now tired, stressed, and getting sick.

This was our school picnic. Parents brought their children and we all went together on buses to an organic farm and a country park.
Brian took this photo at lunch time. It was an impromptu singing time as my kids came over to sit with me. They performed quite well in front of the parents. I, in turn, earned a lot of brownie points. Note all the parents with cameras.... there were more at one point.

Wierd things at school

Today when walking outside at school, I stumbled across this little guy in the main entrance to the building. I've never seen a large mantis like this up close before. I'm really surprised that he was where he was, considering all the children went home about 30 minutes before I came across him.....I wonder how he survived the stampede of toddlers.

I picked him up (on a piece of paper) and relocated him in the schools garden, out of the way and in a safe place. Kind of looks alien like doesn't it.
